Economic Trend #1- Baby Boomers Aren't Retiring
- · https://www.thebalance.com/top-usa-future-economic-trends-3305666
- · I believe an opportunity exists here because when you get old you lose the ability to drive, so I believe there is an opportunity specially dedicated to the baby boomers.
- · The prototypical customer in this case are baby boomer, anyone born from 1946-1964
- · I believe the opportunity will be relatively hard because the transportation market is kind of saturated, but I still believe there is a chance.
- · I believe I formed this belief because I can find an opportunity in an overly saturated market while others wouldn’t because they’re afraid of failure.
Economic Trend #2- America Is Declining in Global Economic Power
- · https://www.thebalance.com/top-usa-future-economic-trends-3305666
- · I believe an opportunity exists here because the standard of living in other countries are rising which creates a middle class that you can sell pretty much any goods to.
- · The prototypical customer I see here are the middle-class citizens of those rising countries like China, Russia, and India.
- · I believe the opportunity here is relatively easy because China and India have huge untapped markets. Also, about 2/7 of the world’s population lives in those two countries so that also helps.
- · I believe I formed this belief because it is a really good opportunity to monopolize on the citizens of countries who are rapidly expanding economically.
Regulatory Change #1 H.Res. 109: Recognizing the duty of the Federal Government to create a Green New Deal.
- · https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/116/hres109
- · I believe an opportunity exists here because if this bill were to become a law, the renewable energy sector would get a huge boost.
- · The prototypical customer in this case would be anyone who advocates for renewable resources and less dependency on nonrenewable resources.
- · I believe the opportunity here is relatively easy because at one point or another we will run out of nonrenewable resources like natural gas and or oil.
- · I formed this belief because renewable resources are infinitely abundant and because the energy is essentially free making a profit is relatively easy.
Regulatory Change #2- H.R. 1595: SAFE Banking Act of 2019
- · https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/116/hr1595
- · I believe an opportunity exists here because currently banks refuse to accept transaction made from selling cannabis because it’s against federal law.
- · The prototypical customer in this case would be any legitimate business that makes money by selling cannabis.
- · I believe the opportunity here is relatively easy, the reason behind this is because the restrictions on cannabis is becoming less strict and I believe it will be legalized but just very regulated.
- · I formed this belief because currently cannabis businesses have no banks to deposit their earnings so if you become one of the first institutions to accept their business, you’ll be very profitable.
Hello David,
ReplyDeleteHello David,
Looks like we found the same website for the article about baby boomers not retiring. Although, when I read the article I found a different opportunity than the one you found. We concluded the same as to how difficult the opportunity we found we will be to exploit. Your regulatory change articles had great opportunities and I agree, those would be easier to exploit.
David,
ReplyDeleteOverall, I was impressed with your post. You thoroughly described each economic trend and regulatory trend. I was particularly impressed with your choice of the first trend (Baby Boomers Aren't Retiring). You had a unique perspective on why the opportunity exists. In the future, you could improve by added my detail to how you formed the belief. Overall, this was a very good post.
Hey David,
ReplyDeleteI found the baby boomer article very interesting as I have never heard of it before. The SAFE banking Act of 2019 article is something that I have never heard of either. I think that if it does become legalized in the near future that someone will eventually have to take on their money and transactions. It should be interesting to see what happens with that.
David,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your posts once again. You are able to go into great detail to support your initial claim. I particularly enjoyed reading the Baby Boomers story, as I have never read anything like it before. Also I wrote about America's declining power in the global economy and we had similar approaches on this idea.
