Hello future entrepreneur students, you’re taking one of your first steps towards entrepreneurship if you are taking this class. I have learned many things about entrepreneurship from the start of the class to the time I am writing this post and I will probably continue learning more about entrepreneurship as the semester continues. Some of the things I have learned from this course is that a large portion of startups fail after the first/second generation and starting a business isn’t as complicated as it seems.
1. A behavior that has helped me with this course is working ahead rather than turning in things as they are due. For example, I try to work 2 weeks ahead and this has made my life less stressful and allowed me to study for tests from other courses.
2. I’ve never really felt like ever giving up for this class because most of the assignments are rather easy despite being time consuming. What helped me through is taking small breaks about every 45-60 mins so I can relax and take a mental break.
3. Three tips I would offer would be keeping track of assignment due dates, work ahead so you won’t be stressed when it’s time for finals/midterms, and take advantage of the class because you can learn things about yourself that you never realized before.

I really like your last tip about how this class helps us find ourselves and really puts an emphasis on what we want to become after our time at UF. I wish you would have gone a little more in depth in your first paragraph and explain what makes you the tenacious person that you are today! I did enjoy your 3 tips, and working ahead is key!!
ReplyDeleteHi David!
ReplyDeleteI'm hungry now lol! I do try to work ahead. I finally have a list of others that do so, so that is helping me move on with the check marks. The only thing I don't like about doing the assignments ahead of time is we rely on what the instructions are, but when he actually goes over them that week during lecture it seems that I interpreted it a little differently. Is what it is I guess. This is a tedious class and tons of interviews. Again, if interested, here is my blog :)

David,
ReplyDeleteThis post was very insightful and I enjoyed reading it. I can relate to you in that working ahead has helped me stay on top of the class. I was especially able to work ahead in the beginning of the semester when my course load was light. I also think you offered great tips!I thought the one about taking advantage of the class was important and something that will be useful for next year's students.
Hi David.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your post.I like how you stay ahead of the game and try to get things done before they are due. I also try and do this. Sometimes I have to take a step back and be patient because I like to watch the lectures before completing the assignments. We have many things in common about our post but most importantly know when things are do and be ahead of the game. :)
Hi David,
ReplyDeleteWhat you said is very true! What you give is what you get out of this class essentially. Working ahead is also a great tip because those 12 pm due dates do tend to sneak up on you - and also a lot of the time the assignments that are scheduled involve you doing extra like interviews or having to read a book, procrastinating can really mess you up if you rely on doing things last second.
Hey David,
ReplyDeleteI think it is great that you added into your post that a large portion of start-ups fail but with determination it is possible to make it happen. Your statement about working ahead is on of the best pieces of advice for this class. You do not know what could pop up in the future and having these assignments done in advance is a life saver. It is not fun to be stressed about getting the assignments done on time.
Hey David,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy this class just like you have. You gave future students excellent tips on what to expect and how to overcome major challenges. I am a transfer student and this is one of my first courses as a UF student, and I couldn't be anymore satisfied with the class that Professor Pryor has laid out in front of us. I hope future students feel the same.
