The issue I had for the previous assignment was an opportunity where people are too busy to clean small messes off their car, like bird poop and bug splatter.
My solution to this issue is an alcohol swab sized package that contains car wash detergent that will easily wipe away bird poop and or bug splatter. The technology already exists to clean cars, but it just needs a medium to store the chemical solution and something to package it in. Doing so will allow people who are busy to easily wipe away small stains on their car’s paint.
My biggest problem with this, however, is finding the right market because people can easily go to a car wash, but I believe once I find the right market everything else will be relatively easy. The market I believe that my target will be people who are usually busy and don’t have a car wash pass.
Hello David,
ReplyDeleteI really like your product and your thought process behind the idea. I know I am usually too lazy to go to the car wash, so this product would be very useful. Moreover, I cant always afford to go get my car cleaned. I can also see why this product would not appeal to everyone though. Overall, I really liked reading your post!
Hello David,
ReplyDeleteHaving an easy access car wash detergent would be very useful to people who take care of their cars. As for your problem with marketing to the right people, at least you are aware of the fact that there are some people that don’t want the product so you won’t have to waste money on advertising in a place that won’t make a lot of sells.
My brother is a huge car person so I'm sure he would be into this idea. My idea here would to go to as many car events as possible to test your idea and product because I think your market would be for people who are very into their cars, for example my brother washes his car every other day and any little mark bothers him. There's a local car meet here across from SW Rec on Fridays, it would be a good idea to test your hypothesis with the people attending that! Good luck.
ReplyDeleteDavid,
ReplyDeleteI think this is a pretty good idea! I think it will attract many people who a very particular about the cleanliness of their car, or maybe people who drive expensive cars for show and want to keep it looking nice. But then again, if they drive an expensive car perhaps they can pay someone to clean it for them. Maybe you can test this idea locally and see if it succeeds. Great post!
Hi David!
ReplyDeleteYou took the advantage of having a product that you could commercialize, but as you stated in the post, the market can be tricky in how consumers respond. One approach that may help your product become more marketable would be to allow individuals to test the theory you presented in the previous post, to see how they would respond to the product. As an entrepreneur, taking a risk is the step in the right direction to multi produce any idea you have in mind. Thanks for sharing,
Kaitlin
Hey David,
ReplyDeleteI think this is a great idea and would definitely be useful. There are many times I have a small spot on my car that I want to get rid of but not big enough to go through the car wash for. People who are busy would be a good target to go after. It would be a quick, simple fix for a small spot. Once you find the perfect target I think this product will be a success!
David,
ReplyDeleteI fully support your idea and you seem to have the idea already in place to go through with it. If I were a customer I would definitely support this going forward. I believe everyone has this issue with their cars and if you target the correct people at first they can put this product on the map with good reviews.
David,
ReplyDeleteDespite the high number of people with car wash passes, I believe that most people wait to clean their car from bug splatter. This makes the splatter harder to get off, so I don't think you'll have a problem selling this solution. However, I would be careful with what kind of chemicals you would use because some chemicals may strip the car of its paint as well. Continually, I would try and find some of the chemicals in dryer sheets because wetting one of those and scrubbing seems to do the trick.
